Espai Sant Marc de Sineu has carried out the first part of the exchange with the Lichtenberg Studios residence in Berlin. This residency has implemented a residency program that relates art to the reality of that neighborhood. This year the resident artist is Berit Myreboee (Norway).
«The basis of my work are intense studies of space and movement. Human bodies in open space and space itself are being captured in short time sequences using photographic techniques. Therefore drafts respectively photographs, which are transferred to the aluminium picture surface, originate.
The photos are then transferred to the aluminium picture surface by using a a self-developed , artistic transfer process. The actual painting can then begin: the structures of the shapes are enhanced with colour, further developed and interpreted. By using highly pigmented oil-based paint the structures of the motive are accentuated, interpretated and developed. The brush strokes change the transferred photographic image and extend it from its former ‘self’; my personal interpretation creates several different levels to each form.»
«Shadowy figures appear, lightly breathed onto the cold metal, landscapes sketchily emerge; both connected to the reflective nature of the background by the space of the surroundings. Just like the structurally defined use of colour, painting techniques are used to oppose this reflection. Matt and contrast define movement, shine and light in the picture borders express space. The picture edges seem to widen as the viewer enters the reality of the image. The image releases itself from the confinement of the border. Through consideration of the picture frame, the observer can interact between the real space and the spatial area in the picture. Espai Sant Marc de Sineu ha realizado la primera parte del intercambio con la residencia Lichtenberg Studios de Berlín. Esta residencia implementa un programa de residencias que pone en relación el arte con la realidad de esta barriada, ofreciendo alojamiento y medios para explorar la zona. En esta ocasión la artista residente es Berit Myreboee (Noruega).
«La base de mi trabajo son intensos estudios del espacio y el movimiento. Cuerpos humanos en el espacio abierto y el espacio mismo se capturan en secuencias de tiempo breves utilizando técnicas fotográficas. De este modo se originan borradores o fotografías que se transfieren a la superficie de la imagen de aluminio.
Luego, las fotografías se transfieren a la superficie de aluminio de la imagen mediante un proceso de transferencia artístico de desarrollo propio. Entonces puede comenzar la pintura propiamente dicha: las estructuras de las formas se realzan con color, se desarrollan e interpretan aún más. Mediante el uso de pintura a base de aceite altamente pigmentada se acentúan, interpretan y desarrollan las estructuras del motivo. Las pinceladas cambian la imagen fotográfica transferida y la extienden desde su antiguo «yo»; Mi interpretación personal crea varios niveles diferentes para cada forma.»
«Aparecen figuras sombrías, ligeramente respiradas sobre el frío metal, emergen paisajes esbozados; ambos conectados a la naturaleza reflectante del fondo por el espacio del entorno. Al igual que el uso estructuralmente definido del color, las técnicas pictóricas se utilizan para oponerse a este reflejo. Mate y contraste definen el movimiento, el brillo y la luz en los bordes del cuadro expresan el espacio. Los bordes de la imagen parecen ampliarse a medida que el espectador entra en la realidad de la imagen. La imagen se libera del confinamiento de la frontera. Al considerar el marco de la imagen, el observador puede interactuar entre el espacio real y el área espacial de la imagen.
