The 27th and 28th of September the artist Barbara Viel presented her etchings at the Graphic Art Fair La Journee de l’estampe, which is a wellknow art fair that takes place in Saint Sulpice Square, Paris, every year. The organization makes a selection of artists and they present their work in different stands, She shared hers with the artist Marcos Vidal Font. The more of those works were developed and printed at Espai Sant Marc this year 2021.
Barbara Viel was born in Nantes, France. After a certificate in applied art in Sèvres, she left France to travel and has not really landed since then, except in Mallorca which was her home port for many years, it is there that she discovered the engrave at the Joan Miró foundation in Palma. Later she will continue to explore it at the BBK in Berlin. This experience of engraving greatly influenced her painting. Her solo trips of varying lengths have allowed her to discover others cultures and to exhibit in countries such as Japan, Spain, Tunisia, England and Portugal where she has recently worked. It was a quest to understand the other, and herself of course. An approach that has never left her.
Los dias 27 y 28 de septiembre la artista Barbara Viel presento varias series de sus grabados en la Feria de arte La Journee de l’estampe, que es una renombrada feria enfocada en la obra gráfica que tiene lugar cada año en la plaza Saint Sulpice de Paris. La organización hace una selección de artistas y estos presentan sus trabajos en diferentes stands, ella compartio el suyo con el artista Marcos Vidal Font. Barbara Viel nació en Nantes, Francia. Después licenciarse en artes aplicadas en Sèvres, dejó Francia para viajar y no ha aterrizado realmente desde entonces, excepto en Mallorca, que fue su lugar de residencia durante muchos años, es allí donde ella descubrió el grabado en la Fundación Joan Miró de Palma.
